How Xbox Earns You More Microsoft Reward Points

How Xbox Earns You More Microsoft Rewards

Did you know that you can earn bonus points by using your Xbox in several ways each month? If you’re already earning Microsoft Rewards points through Bing searches, Microsoft Edge, and daily activities, adding Xbox to your routine can significantly increase the number of points you earn each month.

From my perspective, Xbox (and the Rewards Program) does not make this stand out easily, which is why I’m creating this post to highlight this way to earn more MS points.

What Is Rewards With Xbox?

Rewards with Xbox is an extension of Microsoft Rewards that allows Xbox users to earn points for gaming-related activities. Any eligible Microsoft Rewards member can participate, and Xbox Game Pass members often receive access to additional earning opportunities and bonus quests.

The program is available through:

  • Xbox consoles
  • Xbox mobile app
  • Xbox app on Windows PCs
  • Microsoft Rewards dashboard

Once signed in with your Microsoft account, your Xbox activity can contribute toward your overall Microsoft Rewards balance. As a note, you won’t be able to earn points through PlayStation or Nintendo Switch use. The MS Rewards program only works on Xbox.

What Are the Benefits?

As shown in the Xbox Rewards dashboard, Microsoft promotes three core benefits of the program:

  • Ways to Earn – Play games on Xbox, complete quests, and shop within the Xbox ecosystem. As a note, Microsoft removed the way to earn points for renting movies, but you can still earn on purchasing games.
  • What You Get – Redeem points for gift cards, games, sweepstakes, and other rewards. These points go into your total for your account
  • Game the System – Set goals to help you stay on track

Earn MS Rewards Just for Playing Games

One of the biggest advantages of Xbox Rewards is that you can earn points doing something you already enjoy.

Microsoft encourages users to:

  • Play Xbox games
  • Participate in Game Pass titles
  • Complete gaming challenges
  • Maintain streaks

In many cases, simply playing eligible games for a required amount of time can help you progress toward reward objectives. Microsoft notes that qualifying gameplay activities can generate points through the Rewards Hub.

Unlike traditional rewards programs that require spending money, Xbox Rewards often allows players to earn points through gameplay alone.

Build Streaks

Xbox offers several simple ways to earn additional Microsoft Rewards points through regular gaming activities. Users can earn points by playing PC games for at least 15 minutes on five separate days each week through the Weekly PC Bonus, which awards up to 110 points upon completion.

The Xbox Mobile App Bonus rewards users for simply signing into the Xbox mobile app each day, with points increasing throughout the five-day streak from 2 points on Day 1 up to 18 points on Day 5. Xbox console players can also participate in the Weekly Console Bonus, which provides another opportunity to earn up to 110 points by playing games on an Xbox console across five days during the week.

By combining PC gaming, console gaming, and daily Xbox mobile app check-ins, Microsoft Rewards members can build consistent point-earning streaks and maximize their rewards balance with minimal effort.

Xbox Game Pass Members Can Earn Even More

Xbox Game Pass subscribers have access to several additional Microsoft Rewards opportunities that can significantly increase their monthly point earnings. By upgrading to Game Pass, members can unlock exclusive quests and earn up to four times more points through gaming activities.

One of the simplest rewards is earning points for playing a Game Pass game, while the Game Pass Weekly Streak encourages users to play a Game Pass title on at least five days during the week. Completing the streak unlocks bonus points and can activate multipliers that increase future rewards. Subscribers can also earn extra points through the Game Pass Monthly 4-Pack, which rewards players for trying four different Game Pass games each month, and the Game Pass Monthly 8-Pack, which offers an even larger point bonus for playing eight Game Pass titles during the month.

By consistently playing Game Pass games, maintaining weekly streaks, and participating in monthly game challenges, Xbox users can maximize their Microsoft Rewards earnings while discovering new games included with their subscription.

Earn Points on Xbox Store Purchases

If you already buy games, downloadable content (DLC), or add-ons, Xbox can help you earn additional Microsoft Rewards points on those purchases.

Microsoft Rewards members can earn points when shopping in the Microsoft Store, and Xbox Game Pass subscribers may receive enhanced earning rates on qualifying purchases. Microsoft notes that Ultimate members can earn higher reward multipliers on eligible games and add-ons.

This means purchases you were planning to make anyway can contribute toward future rewards.

Increase Your Points Through the Store Via Different Levels

Buying an Xbox game at the lowest level is worth 1 point per dollar spent. For example, if I was to buy the new 007 video game, I would get about 70 points for the $70 dollars spent.

However, if I was a level 2 member, then my point per purchase would increase by 10x. That same $70 purchase that I made would give me 700 points instead of 70.

Now, if I was an Xbox Game Pass Holder + Level 2 user, I would have a 20x multiplier on my purchases. Therefore, I would earn 1,400 points for buying that same $70 game.

Track Goals and Stay Motivated

The Xbox Rewards dashboard includes a goal-setting feature that allows you to choose a reward and track your progress toward it.

Popular redemption options include:

  • Xbox Gift Cards
  • Games
  • In-game content
  • Sweepstakes entries
  • Microsoft Store purchases

By setting a goal, you can see how close you are to redeeming a specific reward, making it easier to stay engaged with the program.

Final Thoughts

If you’re already participating in Microsoft Rewards, Xbox is one of the easiest ways to earn additional points without changing your routine. By completing Xbox quests, maintaining streaks, playing Game Pass games, and making eligible Microsoft Store purchases, you can steadily grow your rewards balance throughout the year. For gamers, Xbox Rewards effectively turns everyday gaming into a source of free gift cards, games, and other Microsoft Rewards redemptions.

For the best results, combine Xbox Rewards with Bing searches, Microsoft Edge activities, and daily Microsoft Rewards tasks to maximize your total point earnings across the Microsoft ecosystem.
